Senior Resources

God has blessed us in many ways and one of the most meaningful blessings He has given is the gift of “Senior Citizens.” They are our bridge to the past and our life coaches for the future being examples of strength and endurance in our walk with the Lord.  They continuously live on in the character, morals and values that they instill in each of us.  We must always honor and care for them.

Memory Concerns

The Sanders-Brown Center on Aging strives to improve the health of the older adults in Kentucky and beyond through research dedicated to understanding the aging process using clinical programs that promote healthy brain aging. Below are programs presented at First Baptist Maddoxtown.  Click on each image to learn more about the below current offerings.

A memory screening consists of a short test (roughly 10 minutes) which looks at your thinking and memory abilities.

Diverse VCID is a research study using advanced brain imaging and blood-based techniques to better understand how vascular changes cause brain injury and cognitive decline.

The AHEAD Study tests whether intervening AHEAD of symptoms may help prevent future memory loss and dementia caused by Alzheimer’s disease.

The Ice Cream Social Series is a partnership between award-winning playwright and health advocate Garrett Davis and the Sanders-Brown Center on Aging. This series of four conversations is designed to start the conversation about the impact of Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia in communities of color.
